A heliport must be equipped with at least one wind direction indicator. This indicator must be positioned to provide an accurate reading of wind conditions, without being affected by turbulence caused by nearby objects or the airflow generated by the rotor. The indicator must be visible from a helicopter in flight, during hover, or while taxiing on the ground, thus ensuring a correct assessment of wind conditions during all phases of operation. Furthermore, a wind direction indicator at a heliport with night operations must be adequately illuminated to ensure visibility even during low-light conditions.
